  • JOSEV leaves Switch and becomes part of EcoG: British startup Switch EV sold its JOSEV product line - an embedded software stack for EV chargers - to competitor EcoG. • Designed in Finnland, Made in America 🇺🇸: Finnish DC charger company Kempower just opened its US manufacturing facility in Durham, North Carolina. • Rivian R1 - renewed and refreshed: US-based EV startup Rivian recently launched a comprehensive mid-cycle refresh for its R1S SUV and the R1T pickup truck. Less than 3 years after initial start of production this marks a rather early mid-cycle refresh. The company focused on reducing cost and complexity in its architecture and is also moving more parts, eg the electric motors, from external suppliers to inhouse production. This should hopefully help Rivian get closer to gross margin profitability on its vehicles. In its Q1/2024 earnins the company still lost ~$38k per vehicle, but projected gross margin break even for the fourth quarter of 2024 (Link).
