⚡️ Lookback: What's the best performing EV & Charging Startup Stock?

+ Rivian integrates Superchargers, Wireless charging for VW EVs

Happy Tuesday, this is Electric Avenue. We're the electrons in the battery that keeps your electric car going. We deliver mpm (memes per minute) faster than a 350kW charger delivers miles/minute to your EV🔋.

Here's what we have for you today:

  • EV Stocks Performance 📈

  • 3 Links 🔗

  • Meme of the week 🤡

Let's roll!

EV Stocks Performance 📈

Last week we took a look at the 2022 Earnings reports of the 6 largest EV startups (Link). We analyzed them across a few key metrics:

  • Deliveries (how many cars were sold?)

  • Revenue (how much did these cars sell for?)

  • Cost of Revenue (how much did it cost to build these cars?)

  • Gross profit (how much money was left over to cover other expenses?)

This week we`ll take a look at the stock performance of the top EV and charging startups over the past year (52 weeks). We`re looking at:

  • Market cap = current valuation of the company

  • 52W Gain/Loss = relative stock price change over the past year

And for some fun & entertainment, we added: 52W Prediction = How do we feel about the company's potential over the next year?

  • 🚀 = To the moon!

  • 👍 = Optimistic

  • 😐 = Neutral

  • 👎 = Skeptical

We`ll look back next year so stay tuned :)

  • Rivian software update with Tesla Superchargers🔌: After the SuC network was opened to non-Tesla electric vehicles in the USA recently, Rivian released a new software version that added the ~10 accessible locations to its car and mobile app navigation system. To start a charging session, however, drivers need to download the Tesla app.

  • Wireless Charging for VW ID.4 🔋: WiTricity's after-sales solution for inductive charging will be offered by ABT e-Line in the EU. The retrofit solution consists of a wall socket connected to the electrical circuit, a receiver mounted to the underbody of the vehicle, and the charging station fixed on the ground. The system is capable of delivering up to 11 kW of charging power.

  • Middle-aged Germans 🧡 Polestar: According to LeasePlan, the world’s largest fleet management service company, the Polestar 2 leases like hotcakes in Germany. It was the company's most popular electric company car in 2022. Unfortunately spots 1-9 are still taken by gasoline cars such as Volkswagen's Passat Variant station wagon.
